Selena got to the bridge and looked down at the water. Sure enough she could see those orange fish. She watched them for a while until she looked at Justin.

Justin sensed her looking and him and he looked over. His eyes met hers and he smiled and leaned over to give her a soft kiss on the lips.

There was a nurse rolling an old man in a wheelchair through some flower beds. The man turned and met Justin's eyes. They sparked in recognition as his gaze shifted from Justin to Selena and back again. Justin couldn't forget the number he saw in the man's eyes. He only had a few days left.

Selena saw a nurse rolling an old man in a wheelchair around through some flower beds. She looked at the man and knew the number when he was going to die. It didn't look so good. She turned to face Justin. Perhaps he saw it too.

Justin turned his gaze to Selena and grimaced when their eyes met, showing that he, too, had seen the man's number. He realized that in a hospital, seeing numbers was probably not the best power to have. Sure, it'd be useful, but it would be painful, too.

Selena nodded. "I didn't say we should tell people. Of course not. They would be confused." There was a snap in her voice, but she didn't mean to come off a little rude.
